Stay tuned for an update on the 12th Links for Lauren, hopefully coming in summer 2026.

Links for Lauren is an annual golf outing and reception just outside Madison, WI that raises research funds and awareness for Neurofibromatosis (NF).

Since 2013, we have raised over $600k for local neurofibromatosis research!

To our cherished supporters,

After 12 incredible years, including 11 golf outings and one unforgettable virtual concert during the pandemic, we regret to share that Links for Lauren will not be held in 2025. This decision was not made lightly.

Since our first event, your generosity has helped us raise over $600,000 for neurofibromatosis (NF) research at the University of Wisconsin. Together, we’ve built a powerful legacy of hope, community and progress.

Unfortunately, this year we faced a perfect storm: continued economic uncertainty has made it difficult to secure vital corporate sponsorships, and most devastating of all, 100% of the federal CDMRP funding NF research has been cut. This has deeply shaken the NF research community, forcing the departure of brilliant, irreplacable scientists and threatening the very future progress of this field.

We are heartbroken. These cuts are not just numbers on a budget. They represent lost time, lost breakthroughs, and a painful blow to the hope that a treatment or cure might come within Lauren’s lifetime.

But our fight is not over.

While Links for Lauren will pause this yeart, we are channeling our energy into advocacy, working to restore the support that NF research desperately needs. And we remain hopeful and determined to bring Links for Lauren back in the future, stronger than ever, when the research community begins to rebuild and momentum returns.

Thank you for 12 years of unwavering support. You’ve helped us move mountains, and we’re not done yet.

With love and resolve,

The Geier Family & Links for Lauren Team

Lauren

Lauren was born with some characteristics of a genetic disorder and underwent an unrevealing genetic workup at birth. It was not until she experienced several developmental delays and numerous markings on her skin (cafe au lait spots) that she was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) at 18 months of age. The family started the Links For Lauren Golf Outing in 2013, named in honor of their remarkable daughter.
